Saturday 14th January.
Lovely snow conditions in the Cairngorms today. Some great snowcover down to 800m. Father and Daughter team Colin & Suzanne out on a 2 day winter course with me. Completely new to the winter hills until today. Well below freezing on the summits, but glorious sunshine in the morning. A lot of snow being blown about, very aatmospheric.
We headed to the Cais ridge where it was sheltered, seems like lots of other skills groups had the same idea.
In the afternoon the cloubase dropped and some snow showers with our visibility above 800m.
A lot of snow to come and the temperatures plummeting tomorrow. Best take your big coat out.
A great day with lots of skills covered, including getting out beneath a group of 14 people who plonked themselves above us. They were either very ignorant or selfish or both. 🤔🙄.
