BEN LEDI

Another very cold day in the mountains. And another day out from Glasgow, despite issues with delays in the train service to Stirling! Paul and I headed up Ben Ledi near Callender. Paul had just got back from holidaying in Spain where it was 24 degrees C most days. What a shock to the system then today with a high windchill on the tops. There was a few snow showers around the central belt which drifted up to the Southern Highlands. A lot of snow on higher areas had been windblown, depositing wind slab on SE slopes and there was even some rime forming in places. The snow was once again deep and hard work but much better walking conditions higher up and I suspect ridges will be well blown of deep snow now.
