Big cornice collapse on Hells Lum Crag
Another top day here in The Cairngorms. Today it was glorious sunshine with wall to wall sun and hardly any breeze. A quick romp up the Fiacaill Ridge turned into a wonderful afternoon of wildlife watching and big views. I had the privilege of spending over 40 minutes in the company of a pair of Dotterel who were quite comfortable in my presence. The Cairngorms is one of the best places to get a glimpse of these rare birds. Whilst over toward the top of Hells Lum I was witness to a huge cornice collapse, pretty impressive. I had just taken a photo of this big snow overhang and 2 minutes later it 'went'! A bright start tomorrow before the next weather system comes  bringing colder conditions once again. The unsettled theme to May continues.
