Final  day for Gemma, Nigel & Len on their 5 day walking week in The Highlands with me. Unfortunately they had to have a forced rest  yesterday because of badly blistered feet caused by the hired winter boots. With their summer footwear they got up and down Ben Macdui in a very respectable time of under 6 hours today. We had morning sunshine with blue skies but as forecasted the cloud came in from the west and the sun faded. We were back down before the rain set in though. The Cairngorm-Macdui plateau is now largely free of snow but there are still sizable patches to cross. Into another colder weekend and very unsettled weather. More snow showers on the mountains forecasted. When will the prolonged winter end? A great week with the guys and good banter despite the suffering feet. Congratulations!
