SGOR GAOITHE, WINTER NAVIGATION

Steve on the navigation again
For Steve's last day with me this week we headed onto Sgor Gaoithe. Another day of Munro bagging combined with some more essential navigation skills.

The views about to disappear at 750m

We parked up at a deserted carpark in Glenfeshie and not a single person on the hill ( the carpark was deserted on the return).

Paths under drifted snow

Another cold day from Glen to top. Poor visibility above 700m. Some drifted snow and the winds a tad higher than yesterday. Despite a forecast of heavy snow we only got an hour of snowfall around 1pm.

Summit views

A top 4 days with Steve. Great banter and fun. Steve has previously been out with me on the CMD, Ledge Route, Bidean in Glencoe and a wind beaten day, getting half way up Meall a Bhuachaille.

Great conditions this week. Plenty of snow and benign winds for 4 days which is unusual for the Cairngorms.
