ALPINE DAYS IN THE CAIRNGORMS

Fabulous snow and sunny
Brother's Ollie & Will are out with me this weekend for two days of Winter skills and guiding. It looks like they are going to get the best two consecutive days of glorious weather and snow conditions we've had all winter! We started off in cloudy  overcast skies this morning but the sun soon broke through.

All smiles on the snow

Cairn Gorm

Spring in the Strath, Winter in the mountains
Light breeze, minus temperatures and sunshine on the mountains. The snowpack had an icy base with some soft snow on the surface. Perfect for novices as not to daunting on icy slopes.

We made our way onto the Cairngorm plateau. A full cover of snow and superb visibility by early afternoon.

Afternoon sunshine
One of those to linger on the tops and soak in the views. March is always the finest month.
